Dan F (the begining)

I met Dan last April through my FHE brothers, Dan was going through a divorce and always was at our FHE's he was a super cool guy, but we lost contact. A few weeks ago, we began talking. He wanted to take me out on a date, so we went to Applebee's and then went to his place to watch a movie. When he came to pick me up, he came to the door, this is not something I am use to. Guys usually honk or send a text to let me know they are here. He then opened the car door, something no guy has ever done either. We had a nice dinner where we got to talk and get to know each other better. After dinner, he took me to his apartment to watch a movie, we got to talk a lot more and cuddled. When the date was over, he took me home and actually walked me to my door and give me a hug good bye.

The following Sunday, I invited him over for dinner. I made Italian Chicken, rice and corn, nothing to fancy. After dinner, we watched a movie at my apartment. It was a great time, I enjoyed it.

We have been texting a lot. He sends me little smilies at the end of his texts, or sends me random texts asking how my day is going. He does sweet little things for me, but then when we make plans to hang out, he ends up blowing me off. Tonight he wanted to hang out and just talk. I thought it would be fun so I asked him what his favorite pie was and I would make us one. He told me cherry and I said that I would have it hot and ready for him when he was done with the gym. Well, 10pm rolled around, he still hadn't text me if he was done with the gym, so I text him asking if he was still going to come over. He send me a text saying he was busy. I wanted to send a nasty text back letting him know that I spent a great deal of time on a pie for him. But I don't have the guts to explode on a guy. So, I just said okay. Inside I am devastated, not because I made a pie, but because he has the guts to turn around and stand me up after how kind he has been. It literally feels like someone took my heart out and stomped on it and put it back.

I hope with him being gone for Thanksgiving, that things can cool off. Maybe after seeing his family he can remember who he is and how he should act. Is it to much to ask for a guy to say if he doesn't want to come over anymore?

Life as a BYU-I Student

At BYU-I, it is an unspoken rule that girls are to be married with in their first year of school. Most girls who come in are engaged their first semester and married by the end of their second. Many guys return home from their mission and are engaged with in a few short months and married within a year.

Here I am, almost been at school a year, and not once had a boyfriend. I have seen dozens of friends get in to a relationship, get engaged, get married and have babies. I'm still dating around, trying to find the man I want to marry. There have been potential boyfriends, but then it suddenly ends and they get in a relationship with another girl and they get engaged and then married. The last thing I get from the guy is a wedding invitation in the mail.

I want to share my stories, from the first day of the semester, to the day I finally get married.
